    • Probably not seeing that it is a vaccine which by its very definition means it is a prevention not a cure.

  3. Excelente trabalho, os resultados ainda são modestos, mais demonstram que os pesquisadores estão no caminho certo.
Resta agora cada um fazer sua parte na redução da disseminação da doença

  4. Yes it is all well and good for everyone to be excited, but its not like they tried to give them HIV after the vacination and it didnt take. They just handed out the vaccine and when 31% showed no sign of HIV they made an assumption. Keep trying boffins.

    • I am sure that some assumptions were made; however, as the study states, this is the first sign of anything of this nature working at all. There is light at the end of the tunnel, have faith that we have the knowledge and understanding to reach the goal. Pessimism breeds doubt and the lack of desire.

    • they didn't try to give them HIV, they let them live their lives which contained an equal risk of infection compared to the placebo group. they make no assumptions, the study was massive with 16,000 people in the study. 8000 who got the vaccine and 8000 who didn't. it doesn't state that 31% of the people who got the vaccine avoided getting infected, that would imply 69% of them did get infected. You are making the assumption there, and talking shit about something you don't understand, fool.
What really happened was that of the two groups of 8000 people, all of which had equal risk of infection from their own lives (it's unethical to TRY to give someone HIV but it does exist out there so you just have to wait and see) 74 placebo patients became infected and only 51 of those with a vaccine. That works out to a 31% protection.
They didn't just hand out the vaccine, they did a massive carefully controlled study and what they found was truly groundbreaking.
I would suggest you keep trying to understand things before you open your mouth, buffoon.

  5. I am afraid will never get the vaccine, the pharmaceutical interests are many the existing drugs give a lot of money to the pharmaceutical industry, this is a way to say they are working on vacine and receiving over a million … was formerly called the AZT now have all the combinations is available in all pharmaceutical industry, and the committee of medical ethics? is that some are independent from some laboratories to give the good opinio when someone is on the right way for cure or vacine?
    To complicate.
