saving your own life is a choice just like having sex… if you dont protect your life who will. dont blame anyone buyt yourself… 1. for having unprotected sex… 2. having sex in the first place. it is not a necessary! 3. Always assume that if you dont wear a condom or the other person doesn’t, they either want or have the disease. common sense, we are all educated on the subject.. 4. Stupidity and Drugs or no excuse for not protecting your own life or the fault of another… Sex is not for fun people are sexual addicts and dont know what the act is naturally meant for…. it has become an epidemic of its own, then adding all these diseases, well, you are playing roulette with your life because you are selfish and you want to get off. well try abstaning and you will have no drama or issues contracting a disease….. Not having sex is a beautiful thing just as those who think having sex is the most wonderful thing…. It is all a matter of brainwashing the world into thinking you have to have sex just like you have to eat and drink water , well that is not true… and taking the time to know the person you are going to be with and getting tested and wearing condonms… will save you worry and save your life…may take a lot of time to do that, but the rewards are your HEALTH and a partner that cares about you and will Make LOve to you not SEX. what a dirty word as what you catch from doing it. It is your responsibility to protect yourself,,, wake up, grow up, and quit playing with yourself,,,literaly! In this world i see a bunch of sexually addicted sick people who think that sex is for fun. Get Educated and Get some values and morals.. peace.

This is really sad. Yes, the case linked to i ridiculous, but I’m really dismayed that a website like manhunt ignores the need to legally protect people against those who deliberately spread HIV. There are plenty, and many of them are meeting the people they’re infecting off websites like this which only help the number of infections skyrocket.

Just to spark the debate:

During a sexual encounter between two or more consenting adults, isn’t the HIV- partner(s) as responsible to protect himself/themselves as the HIV+ one(s) is/are from becoming infected with one or more sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) that could expedite death?

What if a negative partner was infected with a disease that could kill the HIV+ individual, such as Hepatitis B and/or C, Syphilis, H1N1 and the flu virus and gave it to the HIV+ partner knowingly without disclosing that he was infected? Is that then considered reversed bio-terrorism? Could the HIV+ person then sue or counter-sue the HIV- one?

See my point! There are two sides to every story and obviously the laws are biased against people living with HIV and AIDS creating more stigma and discrimination in society. Being a 25+ year’s veteran in the HIV prevention field, I keep seeing how society continues to stigmatize individuals living with HIV/AIDS by placing all the blame on them.

However, when are we going to learn that it is YOURS AND ONLY YOUR responsibility to protect YOURSELF from becoming infected with HIV and/or other STI’s. If individuals would take steps to reduce their risk of becoming infected with these diseases, the rate of new infections of HIV would be reduced significantly. But is always easier to blame someone else for situations that occur as a result of our own actions, isn’t?

If someone knowingly infects another with HIV, never disclosing that they are poz. then they a criminal to me. And should be prosecuted, by the Justice System. What’s the difference between a loaded gun and and a cocked weapon?

I am sadly disappointed to see that they are trying to charge a guy in Michigan as a bio terrorist … If that is the case then there are quiet a few people in the world that would be brought up on charges for it … Myself being one of them as I am an HIV POSITIVE MAN … If that were the case then why are the other diseases/viruses not label as bio terrorism … This level of paranoia is really not cool … People care many different diseases/viruses and never know about them so by that thought we are all bio terrorist … People wake up and learn the truth … I feel if people that have an illness whether disease/virus are tried as bio terrorists then the people accusing them should be tried for aggrivated assult … Not everyone bites or attacks without being provoked … Please wake up and get educated before someone is murdered/killed because of such a trumped up charge … Bio Terrorism is a serious charge … One not suitable for someone who is ill
