boxersFIGHT OR FLIGHT? Turning the Tables on Bullies…

For many gay teens, being bullied is akin with acne and angst—it’s part of growing up.

The bully’s menace is equally familiar: The name-calling, the beckoning to meet after school, and the wary walks home, peering over your shoulder. But this horror often doesn’t end with adolescence. Studies say that as many as 87% of gay men have a history of verbal harassment, 25% have had objects thrown  at them, up to 37% have been chased or followed, and as many as 24% have been physically assaulted (10% with a weapon or object) – all for being perceived as gay. 1. ..I AM WHO I AM…AND thats all that i want to be'yo! I was teased growing up yes, but with the pain that was, has just allowed me to be strong today…Gays are everywhere, not just in the safe haven of Midtown Atlanta…staying outside that comfort zone has kept it real for me…I reside and work in the in counties that are not so open minded but yet' i stand proud to be who i am.( not the flame but yet a fire)
..Still everyday i am faced with haters, but i opt to disarm their ignorance with love and humor…I take it like a man'yo & i am fuck'n proud to do it! We are everywhere and we are people that feel , hurt and love the same' Just because i am in the sticks does not mean i am going to hide behind the trees'
I love the country & like to visit the city. I can only hope that remaining true to myself somehow changes the ignorant views of others…B true to yourself everywhere you go! B true to yourself in everything you do!
